Words on the Wall

On a cold winter's day they led him away

Where death would wait

The glare of their stares made him aware

Their hearts were full of hate

He didn't even know, a reason for it all

But when all was gone, even family and home

He wrote these words on the wall

I believe in the sun when it's not shining

I believe in love, when I can't feel it

I believe in God even when he is silent

I still believe. I still believe.

Ain't it strange how life can change

In a moment of time

A sudden burst and a cloud of dust

Leaves us wondering why

I don't pretend to know a reason for it all

In times like these, I find my relief

In the words on the wall

I believe in the sun when it's not shining

I believe in love, when I can't feel it

I believe in God even when he is silent

I still believe. I still believe.

On the coldest day, in the darkest night

When there is nothing left, and nothing's right

I believe in the sun when it's not shining

I believe in love, when I can't feel it

I believe in God even when he is silent

I still believe. I still believe.
